Florina Breazu is a contemporary artist from the Republic of Moldova. Beyond her artistic practice, she has also been actively involved as a curator, playing an important role in organizing a number of successful exhibitions that have enriched the artistic landscape. Her commitment to supporting and nurturing new generations of artists was further demonstrated through her teaching activity, which she pursued until 2020, offering knowledge, guidance, and inspiration to young creators. Her dedication to the visual arts is equally reflected in the leadership positions she has held throughout her career. As Chair of the Painting Section, she made a significant contribution to the development and promotion of this artistic field.
Currently serving as President of the Union of Artists of Moldova, Florina Breazu advocates for the interests of the country’s artists and facilitates the international promotion of their work. Her managerial activity reflects a strong commitment to fostering a dynamic, supportive, and representative artistic community.
Florina Breazu’s artistic journey began at the prestigious “A. Șciusev” School of Fine Arts, where she established her first foundations in the visual arts. Continuing her education, she studied painting at the “Alexandru Plămădeală” Republican College of Fine Arts, an institution that provided her with a solid academic background and deepened her interest in artistic creation.
The historical transformations brought about by the dissolution of the Soviet Union led her to explore new directions in the visual arts, prompting her to enroll in the Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design at the “Ioan Andreescu” Academy of Visual Arts. There, she earned a degree in Textile Arts, discovering new possibilities for artistic expression.
Florina later continued her studies at the “George Enescu” University of Arts in Romania, refining her techniques and broadening her creative horizons. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, deepening her research and critical reflection on contemporary artistic phenomena.
Throughout her career, Florina Breazu has had the opportunity to work and create in important artistic centers such as Chișinău, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, and Bucharest, each of which has contributed to her artistic development and maturation. Her story is one of enduring dedication, creative exploration, and active involvement in supporting and promoting a vibrant and flourishing artistic community.
